For 10 years, the Boerne Beat poetry group has met on the first Monday of each month at the library at 9:15 a.m. for an hour of poetry reading. Bring your own, bring a favorite poet, follow our theme or just come to listen! We are welcoming to all. Click this link to review our 2021 schedule.
In 2019, we debuted our first library-published anthology at the Boerne Book and Arts Festival in October! Through Layered Limestone: A Texas Hill Country: An Anthology of Place features poetry, prose and photography that sets readers firmly in the allure and beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Through history, mainly centered on Kendall County, Texas, and descriptive narratives, our goal was to bring to life the fullness of living here. All proceeds from the sale of this book benefits the Dietert Historical Archives at the Patrick Heath Public Library, Boerne, Texas.
